We have been investigating materials strength, speed at being dropped, absorption, how easily they bend to make numbers, and how to build the tallest tower using only paper and masking tape! The children absolutely loved it!
Since the children have all come back to school, they have been taking part in some wellbeing activities such as games, team building and mindfulness colouring. The theme for wellbeing this month has been 'growth'. We talked about how things grow and change in springtime and that they are also growing and changing all the time! The children then planted their own sunflower seed and wrote positive statements to put with it. We will enjoy looking after our sunflowers and watching them grow!
AFRICAN MASK MAKING
In DT this term, our topic has been African masks! We started by looking at and comparing different masks from around the world. We then researched African masks before designing and making our own! The children used lots of different colours, patterns and materials. They look fantastic! They really enjoyed making them and wearing them home.
In Geography this term, we have also been learning about Kenya and the Maasai tribe, and comparing our cultures and ways of life. We have learned that the Maasai women like to wear colourful necklaces so we have made some of our own!
As part of our learning in RE, we have been doing lots of activities about the celebration of Easter! The children have listened to the Easter Story, made Easter cards and Easter crafts, as well as taking part in an Easter egg hunt! We have had lots of fun!
